In The Shadows
With feeble limbs and mind of fleet,
I walk down known but lonely streets,
Unfamiliar faces wave the time of day,
While I shuffle words like toys to play,
My eyes hide within every lonely line,
Like cracks on pavements unaligned,
My soles blistered in rainbows dressed,
My heart so aches for love I've missed.
Days are longing. the nights are colder,
Only shadows to rest upon my shoulder,
My entirety starved of lives oxygen,
My words triste, limps far beyond.
