I’ll Always Be Loving You
Oh, Babe, I am so in the dark.
It’s been so long; been so long . . .
For you was it all just a lark?
Sometimes when I feel so alone,
I think of your face, and it becomes a song:
a song so delicious, as sweet as your kisses.
How could our love not have been true?
Oh, Babe, I’ll always be loving you.
Oh, Babe, I don’t know where you are.
Years you’ve been gone; you’ve been gone . . .
So I think of you, my bright star,
while here in the dark of my room.
Sweet star of my night and sun of my dawn -
Oh, the one I adore; you will glow evermore.
How could our love not have been true?
Oh, Babe, I’ll always be loving you.
Bridge:
Your tender caresses; I think of them yet.
Your mouth on my lips I’ll never forget.
Your smile; your beautiful gaze -
in your warmth I could linger for days.
Oh, Babe, where oh where could you be?
I’ve wondered for years; for years . . .
Have you thought at all about me?
You appear even now in my dreams,
and sometimes I waken, holding back tears -
tears for your star-glow that I’m missing so.
How could our love not have been true?
Oh, Babe, I’ll always be loving you.
Oh, Babe, I’ll always be loving you.
