I must have rehearsed a thousand times,
but the words just floated away;
if you only knew how much I loved you,
how much I wanted you in my life.
Each moment we shared is a memory,
to cherish forever and ever;
did you even suspect the depth of my love,
would we have had a future I wonder.
My heart, soul and spirit hurts now,
for one day you went out the door;
and you did not return to me,
at your funeral I wanted to hold you to my heart.
I can still remember your kiss and caress,
your sweet voice whispering;
that smile and laugh, I cherished,
my love for you was and is boundless and vast.
Wait for me at Heaven's Gate, dear
I will be the girl with tears;
running, running into your open arms,
until then, my tears will wash your cold stone.
