I Like Walking
I don't fish
but sometimes wish
I could golf or work on cars;
Or that I could paint or carve;
Or that I had a lifelong buddy;
Or that I had a lifelong hobby.
I lived among people who loved to hunt
After the harvest during the winter months.
Sweet memories there be of playing in the hay.
There were many years of working with very little play.
Several years ago, I fell in love with walking.
The other hobbies I have are reading and writing.
Walking was refreshing, relaxing, and challenging.
But my walking was curtailed when along came COVID-19.
