Never heard of Haviland but the poem conveys a good idea of what it is. I sure miss my school days and looking forward to summer play. It always went so dang fast!!

It takes me back to read this poem. The joy of being a child outdoors at play is a lifestyle that is becoming lost. Too bad we can't live it over again.

I rarely have them now, but they were so good!

The reminiscing tone of your poem graciously seeped through the lines and the imagery you created in your poem making for an enjoyable read. Now I want a Dream sickle. I remember sitting on the curb eating them with my friends--a summertime favorite. Loved your poem. Have a great evening, Sara
