City Walls
People living in the city
Talking to you like they think their so witty
Putting on a big smile
But wearing it only for a little while
Spending all their money trying to look so good
Thinking the sun never rises whereever they have stood
Spending their time
Trying to make another dime
Hopefully those words went with this rhyme
Fake city lights blind the eyes
Politicians practicing their lies
Too busy to see
What life was meant to be.
Held down by all they own
Life is never even known
Where big money is grown
Living fast
Having a blast
Hard to soar
Nailed to a floor
Behind a locked door
Love you can never buy, only rent
Better to live in a tent
Away from the people
Money is their steeple
People robbing and killing
Nobody ever just chilling
Lifes value is held so low
People sitting back watching the show
This City that never sleeps
The people weeps
Choking on the smog
A barking dog
People shoving on by
Hearing some poor soul cry
So many lost souls
Once they had goals
The city sucked them dry
No longer do they even try
Living day to day
Painfully they play
Hearts turned ice
Love comes with a price
Another tear falls
Behind these city walls
