A Father's Day Love
On this day a birth was given
Not knowing rather boy or girl
I'd love all the same
A daughter was born
A father I became
The many mornings I spent
Her next to dad we slept
Hours of many swinging the yard
Her smiles precious as sun rays
Watching her grow as we played
I watched with joy and happiness
A father, a daughter I tried my best
To raise you like none other
But different I wanted you to be
Tough I had to be
Even though gone you was there
Close in my heart I love
Through years watching you grow
Such a fine lady, the family you become
The success you have made
I stand proud you my daughter
Know dad loves you deeply
This Father's Day and more
