The owl and the dog

The owl stood on a weak branch attached to a tree in Central Park. He flew in from a faraway land and looked around , his head slightly turning, and noticed the glow of the lamps and how serene everything was. It was just turning dark, when he suddenly heard a dog barking and the figure slowly emerged. The dog barked frantically, as the dog came into view. He was a small dog with white fur and some brown spots. The dog was cute, the owl thought. "Who are you"? The owl said. "I'm lost!", the dog cried! The owl understood everything the dog said. "Why are you lost?" "Where is your owner?" "I chased a squirrel and got further and further away, and couldn't find him," The dog said sadly. "I'm so sorry," The owl replied. "Do you think you could make some ooh, ooh noises, so maybe my owner will hear them and will find me"! "Of course,!" The owl started to hoot. "Ooh, ooh, the owl said. Suddenly, the owl and the dog heard footsteps approaching. A familiar voice filled the dog's ears. "There you are Sparky!"! I've been looking for you everywhere!" Sparky barked and sniffed his leg as the man bent down to pet him. "Thank you" said the dog as he looked up at the tree. The owl gave a slight nod as the man looked up and saw the owl. He grabbed the leash tightly around his hand and led Sparky home.
