I saw alittle chestnut bird who flew To and fro for a love that might be true He wailedand screamed but none would answer him And so I ranto follow on a whim At last he settled on a withered branch Its golden leaves flew in an avalanche Tumbling down the dark mass on which he perched He failed to find the one for whom he searched And so I turned to follow the path home Spotted my car with shining silver chrome And drove back with a disappointed frown Until I grinned to see a streak of brown edited by coffee_cake on 3/26/2018
