there are always a few

There are always a few
Troublesome “tickl-ings “
Daringly darting
In somnambulant slumber
Shape shifting shadows
Mocking the moonlight
Creeping through the crevasses
Of literary limitation
Weeping with the whispering words
Subtlety suppressed by silence
Like mice they meander the mind
Seeking sustenance and satiation
Borrowed brown shoes
Dancing in a dusty darkness

This poem makes me aware of similar ticklings that I have heard. Do poems ever have to have limitations?

don't know if this is for a contest or not, john, but i love the alliteration and the unexpected imagery you've used here. my favorite is the "borrowed brown shoes dancing in a dusty darkness." very cool!

A fun read, John, and also provocative.
