See Me

Born with chains on my wrists,
wondering through life a mist,
lost and forgotten for so long,
in a dark tunnel no light shines through,
growing and learning as life goes on trying
to find myself in this harsh world.

Hitting the peak of spiritually,
breaking generational curses while
fighting life's battles,
enclosed in a cocoon emerging as a butterfly,
spreading my wings soaring, and learning to fly,
looking within fighting myself in my minds eye.

Falling down and getting back up,
the hardest part is giving up,
as a caged bird I sing my song,
wanting to be heard and seen as me,
looking into the mirror seeing myself for the first time
realizing I was always free.

I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
