Roy Pett Poem
Catching sight of unwanted reflection
through my eyes I observe my murky mind
lifeless, inactive, defying action
just a blank canvas, raw, pure, unrefined,
desire to inject substantial color
inspired pastels to brighten the darkness
eyes opaque though restrict light, much duller
impulses, brain requesting less Starkness,
my poor mind is without shape or structure
until my thoughts turn to the one I love
blissful images, colorful picture
changing this abyss, no more mourning dove,
she changes my thinking without restraints
such beautiful colors my mind she paints.

Roy Pett Poem
In days not long ago lived our princess
gracious, elegant and so beautiful
everyone she met rich, poor she'd impress
a daughter, wife, and mother dutiful,
her oath and vows she took seriously
sadly her true love was never returned
abandoned treated mysteriously
our princesses wellbeing unconcerned,
this loveless marriage and deceit must end
living in London’s pretence with prince John
unwilling to repair her heart nor mend
he was happy to divorce, see her gone,
her life ended in unexplained disaster
sadly there was no happy ever-after.

Roy Pett Poem
My love for you is true and has no bounds,
you are my friend, my life, you are my rock,
I adore your voice your melodic sounds,
even when you sneer and angrily mock,
when you need me I will always be there,
without you I would be nothing at all,
your the only one in my life I share,
when I'm in trouble your the one I call,
how or where we live has no consequence,
as long as we're together, we both care,
whether rich or poor makes no difference,
no one can take what we've got, we're a pair,
your hurting so am I, I will show it,
for you I will always take a bullet.

Roy Pett Poem
Aged four and half, first day at school
he was going to prove he was no fool,
through boredom disrupted his class
which continued each following day alas,
by luck or fate proved he was not pathetic
my poor boy was diagnosed as dyslexic,
many years past struggling but determined
With this unfortunate disability he burdened,
art and design he found his path to success
through art college he did quickly progress,
at age of seventeen discovered with fear
a life threatening heart condition did appear,
after medical procedure, an electrical bypass,
returned to college awarded top of his class,
to university success predicted by forecasters
proved right after four years collected his masters,
with determination, belief, support and direction
Proved to me everyone can produce perfection.

Roy Pett Poem
I Love my Mother in law.
Phone rings
Ear stings
Door knocks
Nerve shocks
Come in
Large gin
Be nice
Head lice
Hair gel
Strong smell
Stale wee
Flows free
Stand here
My dear
Trap door
what for
Goodbye
Large sigh
In jail
Good tale.

Roy Pett Poem
What a wonderful time nature will bring
this exceptional season we call Spring,
sounds of birds, amazing aromas, smells
beautiful cowslips, primrose and bluebells,
fresh feel in the air, green shoots of new crops
colourful tulips, pansies, and snowdrops,
misty mornings, dew on the lush green grass
trumpets of daffodils, tulips, crocus,
warmth from bright sun rays, sense of optimism
peonies, sweet peas and pink cherry blossom,
longer warm days, shorter nights that delights
hyacinth, freesias, wonderful sights,
goodbye bad weather frost, wind and rain
hello new growth new life happy again.

Roy Pett Poem
I know the land where the lemon trees flower,
where we made love not war, we had flower power,
casual clothes, had an occasional shower
we loved nature, youth of the human race
old generations thought we were a big disgrace,
was our generation, our time to live
a time of change, to forget, to forgive
expressing our love, peace, we were hippies
we were loving children of the sixties,
supporters of peace, all armaments we opposed
protectors of all natures assets, unexposed
end all wars, live and let live was all we proposed,
to live in the land where the lemon trees flower,
land of the free, where every hour was happy hour,
was our generation, our time to live
a time of change, to forget, to forgive
expressing our love, peace, we were hippies
we were loving children of the sixties,
Unfortunately our decade came to an end
our message of love, peace they did not comprehend
into turmoil, darkness and hatred did descend
our wonderful land where those lemon trees flower
is alive in our minds, we will never cower,
was our generation our time to live
a time of change, to forget, to forgive
expressing our love, peace, we were hippies
we were loving children of the sixties.
