Eight Winds.

-eight winds come to break u-
..lead your mind astray...
-praise and blame deflate u-
..(but) light carries them away..

-fame and defamation-
..each follows one behind..
-famous for the moment-
..what's left of your mind..?

-gain and loss defeat u-
..both are just the same..
-sanity come to meet u-
..u never knew her name..

-where u going on the morrow?-
..where were u today..?
-recognize joy and sorrow-
..both have something to say..

-four winds come to greet u-
..lead u on your way..
-four more can defeat u-
..blow your soul away..

Forgiveness

who taught u forgiveness?
that misunderstood flavor
u question my intentions
hidden in my behaviour

i wonder if today will last?
i wonder your religion?
i question your pretensions
i long to be forgiven

everyone is guilty
some just got position
some try not to hurt u
most just never listen

i try not to lie too much
cuz liars never prosper
but sometimes i'm a sinner
i'm kneeling at your altar

A Speck of Dust

a speck of dust
on the surface of life
that's all we are
that's all we are

i swear
though life may cause u strife
that's all u are
that's all u are

a tiny atom on a
dinosaur
that's all we are
that's all we are

a little black dot
on a giant white star
that's all u are
that's all u are

-and as the tide rolls out
u see what u can see..
our sister moon reveals
the bottom of the sea-

-they say there's nothing new
beneath our father sun
you're just a speck of dust
but you're not the only one.......

Embrace

please, let me embrace
this spiritual place
from where i emanate

give me the power
to endure
that i may elevate

and understanding,
and wisdom,
-will perpetuate

a deeper level of vision
that i may
resonate.

and i will rise above
towards love

and u will rise above
towards love

and we will rise above
towards love

allow me patience,
and trust,
inside my circumference

360 degrees
without
incompetence

and bless me
with maturity
to balance childishness

for he who seeks
knowledge
begins with humbleness.

and i will rise above
towards love

and u will rise above
towards love

and we will rise above
towards love

i seek the blessings
of those
of higher consciousness

i walk the roads
of divine complete
eternalness

and in my mind
i can find
that which is endless

but still
i have to confess
i need a place
-to rest-

and i will rise above
towards love

and u will rise above
towards love

and earth will rise above
towards love

embrace.

Milestone

they say age is just a number.
it was-but now, it's not.
it has become, an adversary.
something to be avoided-at all cost.
7, 8, 9, 10---these were friends i looked forward to meeting. later-
18, 19, 20, 21, these were goals, i looked forward to, accomplishing. then-
27, 28, 29, 30-these were achievements i enjoyed, accomplishing.
-now, there's 40. looming, smirking, menacing.
arms crossed-fearful and stern just above the horizon.
40-The Great Divide.
YOuth-a distant memory, old age beckoning.
WHoever said age is just a number,
had not, yet-met-40.

Took a Walk

i took a walk outside
see what i could see
wonder in my eyes
..people watching me..

day was dark and cold
autumn in the air
searchin' for religion
..children stop and stare..

a king without a country
a joker in the pack
an ace inside my pocket
..diamond in the back..

a loner on the street
lost-among the found
i'm on a distant corner
..only one around..

Psychedelia

i took a walk to the edge this morning
-saw the stars leap across the sky-
spaceships in a tight formation
-silver dressing on a purple pie-

i met a witchy earth queen at a bus stop
lookin' at me with big brown eyes..
ridin' by on her blue bi-cycle
sayin' i should remove my disguise..

psychedelia-take my number
psychedelic like a black cadillac
i met a girl at an empty bus stop
..psychedelia take me back..

i used to sit at the back of the classroom
lookin' left when the say look right..
sugar sandwich and a glassful o' madness..
why is everybody so uptight?

psychedelia-what's yo' number?
23-and i'm trapped inside!
7 colours in a midnight rainbow
i'm chasin' comets to release my pride..

psychedelia-what's yo' flavor?
i'm a lion/i'm an insect-right?
got a buddha on my broken shoulder
paradise in the sky at night...

psychedelia-what u believe in?
-10 of cups/give me peace at night-
met a witchy earth queen in a manger
my God above say i'm doin' alright..

i'm a misfit/rebellious soldier
kaleidescope/prismattikkal eyes
what u lookin' at? -i thought i told ya
i'm inspired as the Black Dove flies...

psychedelical/hermetikkal misfit..
hypothetical questions ariese
when u look into ur mirror
-do u like it?
do u know if your mind is alive?

Warrior

as the world breaks apart around me
and confusion comes in to drown me
i command the light
to do what's right.

as the enemy tries to defeat me
let me slay him sweetly
i command the light
to do what's right.

if another should try to deny me
i step aside and bless thee
i command the light
to do what's right

if a demon comes in to fight me
cut me and bite me
i command the light
to do what's right

i am the warrior.

On the Moon

i'm standing on the moon
-starz are all around-
i also see the earth
purple, green, and brown

it shines on the horizon
mist comes from the trees
blue mountains in the distance
...man i love days like these...

hey-look at all the stars!
..see the Southern Cross?
it's just a simple pattern..
but it let's us know who's boss..

in space-it seems so perfect
a peaceful blue medallion
on earth-we got some issues..
man, u should do some travellin'

we're spending all our time
chasing what is dying
we're living in the past
and we're not even trying

we're choking on our poisons
pistol packing fools
and im trying to remember
what they taught me in those "schools"....

..vacations in Australia
Mt. Fuji in Japan-
sunshine is for breakfast
with women in foreign lands..

the clouds have silver linings
but it's dark before the dawn
each man was made for victory
come one-come all-come on..

we're spending all our time
chasing what is dying
we're living in the past
heaving, crying, sighing..

we're choking on our poisons
pistol packing fools
and i'm trying to forget
what they taught me in their schools....

blue earth spins on it's axis
planets sing in tune
and i'm checking out what is happening...
-while i'm standing on the moon-

Make My Stand

the winds are kicking up around me now
i can feel them brush and scrape me
got a feelin' life's about to change
ain't a thing that can last forever..

i been a loner for far too long now
on my own in a cold dark world-but
i been thinkin' 'bout a trip back home
Heaven and Earth in one place..

i wanna take a trip across that ocean
try to find me a piece of land
a wooden palace on an evergreen landscape
with a river so my kids can play..

i'd like to live on a California hillside
Pine trees, rocks and things..
me and my lady got a few small dreams
from up above earth look so fine..

lotta folks say they don't like rain
lotta people are afraid of pain
i ain't afraid of a little bit o' thunder
i like to watch when the lightning strike...

i ain't sure about a whole lotta things, but-
i know jesus was a peaceful man
gettin' tired of the chasin', racin'..
i need a place i can
make my stand.
