The words you didn't mean

You spoke the fears I had confined
Caged up in the back of my mind
I told myself they were not true
But now they're back, because of you
Once diminished, doubt was gone
Your affirmations brought out dawn
But now it seems, you’ve changed your mind
The real test to pass was time
The failed exam I would have wrote
For all my life, off that one quote
You said the words you didn't mean
I’ve lived by them, a full machine
My world was held up by your hands
Without them now, my frozen lands
Are barren, that’s the price I pray
For willingly giving my heart away

The Finish Line

Betrothed to your hollow headlines written in the speech bubbles on my phone screen
Enough is enough when I discover that I want a hologram of you, laying next to me
The build up breaks me down like crumbling bricks turned to dust at your feet
The reason I stay is only connected to the reason I came in the first place
Written with jets in the sky over America for every wandering eye to see
Or engraved in secret code, purely meant just for you and me
I’m torn between the alternate option of you only loving me for a piece
The life I chose to lead, running after the uncertain aftermath of you reaching for me
Words hold either all my thoughts, or have no meaning at all
How you chose to perceive my actions, is what controls the fall
And when it ends, with time as the main contributor to our lives
A longing script inside my mind that goes internalized
Everything dies by our sides
Everything fades in our graves
All of the life goes back to the soil
For death is the finish line

You know I'll be long gone by then

"Leave her alone
She doesn't know
How to appreciate help

King of her throne
Put's on a show
Lost in the depths of her own hell

She doesn't think
She's falling to drinks
Don't you know you're someones daughter?

Get her a shrink
Because she doesn't blink
Before she bulldozes the alter

The victim again
A game of pretend
She always has her defenses up

We'll count to ten
The ink from her pen
She crosses out names for the cup"

Sorry I'm broken
Can't go unspoken
Killing each chance that I get

Use me as a token
A sample explosion
To throw at the next girl who repents

You know I'll be long gone by then
