Dear Darling

Dear darling, you’re the apple dumpling of my eye,
You are early morning’s meadow larks’ lilting cry.

You’re my sunshine glimmering as noon time grows nigh.
To catch the brilliance of your rays always I will try.

You’re sweet spring’s breeze; your susurrations make me sigh.
With tenderness to my sweetie always I reply.

You’re the bursts of firework flowers; how I hate to see them die,
for brightly you illuminate a joyous night of July.

You’re September’s scarlet streaks in a dusky sky.
Nights grow cold; I hold you close as next to me you lie.

You’re the loveliness of leaves which off October's trees colorfully fly.
You’re the wonder of a snowy winter day; your beauty nobody can deny.

Your loyalty is strong and true; I’ve no need to ever question why
you love me as you do. Always you return after every goodbye.
