Sunset Picture
As the sun moves down and sets behind the distant trees, You take a deep breath, the perfect time of day, if you please. Shoulders relax as you sit and reflect on the hours gone by, Evening approaches as the day ends and you breathe a sigh. The sky changes colour from warm yellow to pinkish mauve, Supper is done and the dirty dishes are still sitting on the stove. Don’t work through this picture, you don’t want to miss the glow, The shine on the river, the reflected shadows make time slow. Not only is the world most beautiful now but without the sun, It signals that if its been a bad day, it is now officially done. Sometimes in the summer, its a perfect time to take a drive, Makes you feel good, singing and driving, just glad to be alive. You anticipate the oncoming evening because it holds your private time, Where you can take a bath and soak, that feeling of calm, so sublime. Sundown reminds you that repairing slumber time will soon be here, Tomorrow, same feelings but the picture changes throughout the year.
