Too Old For Mother's Day
A mother would smother, hug and kiss the hurt that the world imposed, away. A mother would ruffle your hair and stoke every care and concern away. A mother would listen to your dreams and aspirations, and wouldn’t wish them away. We, as mothers, hold your very existence dear to our hearts and are in wonder. The responsibility of raising a being to adulthood; it instils in our breast a wonder. Respect to for all the creatures that dwell upon this earth and hold them in wonder. As our children grow older and wiser they often challenge the status quo. The world can be a cruel taskmaster if we ignored the manmade status quo, as our offshoots find their tentative feet when they try to adjust to the status quo. As a mother, I can but sit back and hope that the lessons imparted over a lifespan, my wisdom earned the hard way, will serve them well over their lifespan. I am too old for Mother’s Day, but rejoice in a job done well over a lifespan.
