The Time Race
Day and night
the man craved
To be bigger than his neighbour
To be richer than his brother
To his eyes times move like a snail
Tomorrow he wants today to become
Racing against time
Who has ever won?
Harder he toiled
Faster he ran
Lesser he rested
Thinner he grew
Friends saw him lesser
His wife kissed him lesser
He thought he was winning
His prize came;
He sits on his throne now;
Six feets under
