When we met
That first flower began to grow
We shared the garden
Planting any and every carnation
Until it was a sea of floral pigment
A sweet aroma filled the air
And we danced until we could not stand
Then I grew tired of the maintenance
Soon my part of the garden started to wilt
Yet your devotion didn’t cease
Making sure your plants were always healthy
You were unaware of my withered greenery
Until I revealed my personal graveyard
And daisies began to sprout on your side
“This is the first water my flowers have seen in months”
I said as you cried
