To be a day without you that I need not, is a day when the sun should not rise Let the cockerels roost and the dawn chorus sing out only for the deaf May the tides cease their perpetual motion, without request to lap upon the shore Leave the rhythm of the Earth to spin on, in orchestral silence
Give concession to avalanches of rain, a relentless torrent on the ground Allow it to devour the soundest river and drown every fish in the sea To be a day without you that I need not, is to let them hollow my fragile frame Accept the bluntest knife: rust and all, as it rattles my corpse where it lay
