Yours

You lips
so close, so promising
awe-inspiring
inviting
enticing

If only...
I sigh
I die
to everything else
but this
wondering...
ah....wondering...
what it would be like
to touch
      to taste
                  to...kiss

But...why the silence?
When did the last word fade?
Have you noticed my gaze?
Have I given myself away?
My heartbeat, a frenzied pace
as my eyes travel up your face
What a disgrace
If I see indifference
Apathy...
that would be
the end... the end of me
my demise
I search your eyes
only to see
hungry desire
unguarded need
looking down at me

You move in closer
hand cupping my cheek
as your thumb runs over my lips
a wordless plea
asking me
to let desire break free

Unsure, you lower your hand
mine stops its decent
holding it up to my face
Lightly, I close my lips
over your finger
My first kiss
Here's yours answer
my willing surrender

In one swift motion
You pull me close
as your lips close over mine
I'm lost in the sublime

Sweeter that any fantasy
this here and now reality
We're meant to be
One

Body to body
soul to soul
possession the goal
What you do
makes me whole

As you come up for breath
your lips brush against my cheek
I feel faint...I feel weak,
but you hold me fast
as you whisper in my ear
"I'm going to make you mine.
All....mine."

I press in closer
yielding..
molding myself to you
"But darling," I pant
I am...
        already...
                        yours."

Dear Eileen, What a beautifully charged poem about the anticipation and surrender of desire. I loved how the poem's structure with short, evocative lines perfectly captures the racing thoughts and heightened emotions. I love how the poem builds tension through "awe-inspiring" and "wondering," then switches to the vulnerability of "silence" and the fear of "indifference." The ending is a powerful declaration, perfectly capturing the complete surrender. - Blessings, Daniel

You're into k dramas? My wife is Korean so yeah, we're into them. Sorta. Just finished Queen of Tears. Have you seen it? Quite emotional. As always, your romantic poetry is intense and palpable.
