After The Storms Of Last Night

After the storms of last night, a calm surrender, When lightning flashed and thunder roared with might, Emerging to the porch, a moment so tender, In the early morn, the air is pure and bright. Pears as big as golf balls hang high Green blueberries hang like grits Waiting to ripen in a short by and by As will raspberries which are hits The garden and orchard are blessed Give us treats all summer long Some I can freeze or preserve at their best Even though I am no longer strong The earth, renewed, glistened with rain, A symphony of droplets, a dance of delight, Nature's canvas washed clean, free from stain, Inhaling deeply of the perfume of morning light. The storm may pass, but its memory lingers, A reminder of power, of nature's grand plume, Yet in its wake, we find beauty that lingers, After the chaos, a tranquil, sweet bloom.

So long as I'm indoors, I don't fear storms. An elegant poem where we see the fruit of rain urging blooms and other plants to grow. Wonderful write.

I love the elegance and grace that flows through your words, Sara K. I appreciate your perspective of 'after the storm' I especially liked these lines: The storm may pass, but its memory lingers, A reminder of power, of nature's grand plume, Your words brought me peace & I'm grateful. Have a splendid evening, Sara B
