Balsams

In tastefully lined up pots in a row, Multi colored balsams in clusters grow. A visual treat to adoring eyes, But never a haunt frequented by bees. Balsams do not need much care, yet may fade, If not allowed a little shade. Flimsy they are of delicate stems, With light green leaves of serrated hems. Growing in my neatly laid up yard, They invariably make me glad. Gleaming in the first rays of summer sun, By their simple beauty, my heart they have won. Unlike the charming red, red rose Hardly any poet, on them, odes compose They have no scent, yet as a colorful throng, In my courtyard, proudly they belong When the flowers wither, pods appear In time for self- dissemination, prepare When fully ripe, the pods explode And seeds fly as birdies from their nest to explore! Thus, Nature’s ways are so amazing Even in plants there's an inherent training For seeds to leave the comfort of their pods And find their own space fighting all odds!

I've never heard of the balsam but you painted a lovely image of it with your words. I'm fascinated with the fact that the pods explode and seeds fly as birdies. I bet that's quite a scene. I agree. Nature's ways are so amazing. A delightful contest entry...it should place well. Wishing you a splendid evening, hugs, Sara

Your poetry exquisitely captures the majesty and resilience of the lowly balsam buds. The brilliant colors and neat rows of flowers are a delight to behold, as they are skillfully depicted. The poem evokes a sense of joy and admiration for these underappreciated flowers with its gentle rhymes and beautiful images. Balsams are subtly beautiful and resilient, and the contrast with the popular red roses brings forth their best features.

Your poem is a delightful ode to the humble balsam flowers, elegantly capturing their charm and resilience. It skilfully paints a vivid picture of the flowers in neatly lined pots, their multi-coloured clusters a visual delight to behold. Through gentle rhymes and descriptive language, the poem evokes a sense of joy and admiration for these often-overlooked blooms. The comparison between the balsams and the more celebrated red roses highlights their understated beauty and quiet strength.

Dear Valsa, I love the beauty and resilience of balsam flowers with eloquence. You portray their simple yet enchanting presence in your yard through wonderful scenes and gentle rhythm. The analogy of seeds leaving their pods mirrors the journey of growth and exploration in life. Your reflection on nature's teachings shows the beauty and wisdom in the smallest beings. Truly inspiring! - Blessings, my friend, Daniel

I admire the ease and flow of this poem so full of rhyme. Alas I have little sum for my flowers. Today I saw a large single red hibiscus. Hope no one will be tempted to take cuttings. Blessings
