A Whole New Meaning

Out of the mouths of babes isn’t like it was before.
What they here is worse, than they speak poor.
Words that a young one should never hear.
Innocence than fear.

So please choose your words as kind as can be.
Please don’t hurt the babes, there as sweet as you can see.
Let them grow, learning there is joy all around.
Sweet words of love is an awesome sound.

They are only little for a short time.
Read them story books of rhyme.
Play games, go for a walk.
Listen to them as they talk.

So young, so innocent and when school starts.
Show them confidence with kind hearts.
Let them know how proud you are.
Using words of kindness can help them go far.

Inspiration Can Be

A little tomboy, covered in dirt.
Mud on her face and all over her shirt.
Taught by her dad ,how to build with wood.
Walked around in her jeans, a sweater and a hood.
Grew up to be smarter than they ever thought.
A classy women, handmade clothes, never bought.

After college her life really started to expand.
A job on computers is where she did land.
Later she fell in love, married in a year.
They bought a beautiful house,is what I did hear.
Standing near the window, often she would draw.
Her sketches are in the Art Building Of Shaw.

Intelligent,smart and pretty at best.
Now let me tell you the rest.
Like as many she struggled in her life.
Happy in marriage, an amazing wife.
Struggling with stress from a long time ago.
Depression and on meds, it started slow.

Taking a leave from her job for awhile.
Tears took over, it was hard for her to smile.
This could happen to anyone she was told.
Her husband standing close, his hand she did hold.
Talking with a doctor, getting lots of sleep.
Sharing feelings she held deep.

It wasn’t long and she started to feel good again.
Putting her thoughts down in a journal with a pen.
Later she created a book on how she got better.
I am an author and was honoured to have met her.
After sharing her story with me.
I want to tell you this,” I’ve learned what true inspiration can be”.

Such an amazing lady.

Thank You Thy Moms

Thou mothers of daughters, I hope you can hear me say,
How blessed we are for the courage and strength that thou teach.
To be independent, to be encouraged to try new things.
Hear thee they moms, for it is you who teaches us.

To be the women of future years to come.
To stand up and speak and to be heard.
To be educated in any field.
To carry ourselves with strength and confidence.

For the women of today,
even stand beside thy men.
In battles like they never once could.
To earn paychecks to pay for their families to be fed.

Thank you thy moms.
For you believed in thee.
To carry on in life as once it never was.
To be a strong woman, to teach the way you did.
For women to go farther in life.
To gain confidence, courage and passion.
To be heard, to learn and most of all.
Be like you dear moms

Good Night Mom

Good night mom,
I miss you every day.
To hear your voice
speak so tenderly.

It's hard to believe I have
not seen you in five years.
Yet your tender heart
impacts us all through the year.

Memories of Christmas past.
Watching you bake fruitcakes and
cookies too.
Fondest memories that we embrace.
While we think of you.

Each one of us feels you closely.
Every day of our lives.
After all, you taught us the meaning.
Of what Christmas really means.

Its family, near or far.
Gathering together,
talking on the phone.
It's the joy we bring to others.

Good night mom.
I will see you one day soon.
Yet it is my turn now.
To try my best to be a bit like you.

Release Thy

Release thy stress,
you will feel your best.
Capable of making your dreams come true.
Doing the things you have always wanted to do.

Release thy pain,
rest and gain.
The ability to feel free,
with many capabilities.

Release thy suffering from war,
help as you can to open a new door.
For the suffering to go away,
for life to get better with each day.

Release your bright and beautiful smile.
Enjoy often and with your own style.
Be you and do what you love to do.
Feeling good about what you have accomplished and where you are heading to.

Starting Tomorrow

Looking up, as the sun was beaming above.
My eyes did water for I felt in my heart, love.
Could this be the path that we will take one day?
As the clouds looked beautiful as they spread in a way.

For I felt complete to even think this could be a path I may take.
For when I leave this world and a transition I make.
Could this be what they called heaven, could this be the way?
For it was magical and maybe I will find out one day.

For now, I will rest and see what life will bring.
From my morning coffee and listening to the bird's sing.
I will enjoy time with my family and my friends.
Dancing and learning new twists and bends.

Most of all I will make memories and enjoy life at its best.
I know I will be busy so I won't forget to rest.
Yet to think of beauty on earth is what we make of it.
Starting tomorrow, creating and adventuring will be the perfect fit.

Will Talk In the Morning

Will talk in the morning and get caught up.
On things, you are doing and sip a cup.
Of hot brewing tea.
A chance to reconnect, just you and me.

There are moments when there is not enough time.
Just to relax and unwind.
To be together and feel free
Cuddling close, just you and me.

Times we spend in the car on a ride.
I look over at you with so much pride.
How did I ever find a man like you?
My admiration is eternally true.

From the moment I met you standing there.
I admired how you looked with your brown curly hair.
I could see us together having fun.
For in my eyes, you are my number one.

New Journey

I’ve waited my whole life.

To see those magical dreams come true.

Of hiking in the mountains,

Seeing man’s first step on the moon.

Independence, I learned on my own.

Self worth was so important to me.

Learning who I was, a great education.

Where in the world will I be?

Computers had started to become a beginning.

The technology world was awaiting thee.

Off to college I did go.

Only to earn a degree.

Later at a hockey game, which I loved so much.

A stunning man sat beside me.

Understanding the game, we shared similar things.

Three years later we wed, the happiest we would ever be.

The dream of being a mom.

Holding a newborn, five fingers and five toes.

First steps, reading to them.

Even a silly runny nose.

Now they have wings to fly.

Adults with dreams of their own.

Now a new journey , some call empty nest.

I call it new beginnings at home.

It Makes Me Proud

I once was told I could never be a mom.
The day my children were born, I was so overcome.
With laughter and joy in a unique way.
It was a new beginning of many good days.

It makes me proud to see our children learn each day,
My favourite was to watch them have fun and play,
To hear them read and learn new things.
Then the creativity and the songs they did sing.

I was and still am the proudest of moms there ever could be.
Two adults thriving to learn, working to succeed.
Yet I am not alone when it comes to being proud.
Their dad and I feel like we are floating in a cloud.

For the person who said I could never be a mom.
Felt I was too weak, fragile to some.'
Children are the symbols of our love for each other,
I am so proud to hear them say," I love you mother."

Escaping Reality

High above the clouds, where you can hardly see,
Escaping the world below is where you want to be.
A fresh place, a new beginning to have a chance to go.
Anywhere, any place that makes you grow.

Reality can be the toughest thing of all.
Especially when you end up taking a fall.
Then again reality can be beautiful all around.
The trails we take, the beautiful natural sound.

Finding in your heart, who you want to be.
Where you want to go and what you want to see.
Life is an adventure filled with love in many a place.
It is so magical it can brighten up your face.

No matter where you are, what you want to be.
Taking a moment of escaping reality.
Step back for a bit to find where you want to go.
Finding the tools that will help you grow.

To who you want to be.
Or what you might want to see.
But most of all no one matters more than you.
Escaping reality might just be the thing to do.
