A Flower In Paradise

A flower in paradise
There’s a lack of nostalgic golden bell,
Garden flowers in Carlsbad*, and
Even cherry blossoms in Descanso**.

In a neighbor's mini-garden
Resting is an unknown flower.
It seldom dates bees and butterflies.
The stem bows respectably.
The petals wrinkle gracefully.

Full of comfort and peace,
Filled with beauty of recollection,
Bare flower mutters to itself,

Solely embraces the glorious sunrise,
Rolls the shadow at dusk,
Then, she falls asleep in the moonlight

Out of the vicissitude of life
Modest is the flower in paradise.

*Carlsbad: a coastal city, San Diego County, California
** Descanso: botanical garden in La Cañada Flintridge, Los Angeles County,

No Title

No title
The sun rises and sets
The soul and body play game
I perceive, though.

For no meaning I skip a pebble across the river.

Without any goal
I cast a line fishing in the pond.

With no reason
I kick off empty cans clattering.

Please, don't inquire where I am
In a dense fog.

The Last Plumeria Flowers

The last Plumeria flowers
                                       Robert Chung

The fall equinox passed away a long ago
I’m the last flower left over

Early morning you stopped walking by
Don't inquire of me why or how
If briefing, I must not let the sunset depart

Someday, missing me as passing by,
You may chat with each other
Through the night till dawn breaking

A Full Moon

A full moon
                           Robert Chung
Once in the lunar month
A full moon stops by,
Telling us something, tacitly.
We do not perceive it, but
Marvel only at her brightness.

The wild dogs on the hill
Howl knowingly.
They are touchy-feely!

Two Shadows

Two shadows
                        Robert Chung
Light of the sun casts
The shadow upon the trees,
Galanty show to the pebbles.

In a beam of soul
Love yields the shady hatred,
Life draws death with silhouettes.

The Same House

The same house

The place looked huge.
It has been as it is.
Today I visit the same as a hut.

A Roar

A roar

It's not the day of the gardener.
He appears today after skipping a holiday.

The morning coffee is lovely, joining KUSC, 91.5 FM at it.

A raucous mower goes on a binge of
Shaking a teacup and breaking the air.

I escort the vibration resonating to his home
As happiness in the sublimation of the dogged roar.
