Poem
You are the person of virtuous devotion The world has beaten you down and taken what you love Yet you never slayed by your emotion You took pity on those like you and with your wings showed them how to fly like doves To connect is a skill few want to master Moving by the clock, thoughts stuck other's faults But here you are the people's, passionate pillar You borrow their eyes to see their hearts To lose and arm and a leg is nothing to you Because you know that their are those who can't even walk You see that we are not so different in our goals and struggles too You can read our fortresses and tread to the gates we only stalk To give us light We can work together To stay and fight To live and see another And to you although your soul is teared by the hands of apathy And you find purpose in repaying debts You yearn to talk to others about reality To share joy, grievance, to hear them laugh and feel their breath And that is what makes you mighty The room inside your essence To clean out the clutter and look at what's empty You plant saplings in the void and fill it with lively impressions To survive a storm in a sign of endurance But why resist pain if you are the trigger to your own bullet Command winds to stop 'because I am here to guide your movements' The waves are tough but you sway past and go for it No longer are you still and unnerving Now you master the art of control Your sails began augmenting As you move to a new sea to a new pole At last it is he, no one could forget How could anyone not know him He stands out like the first page of a gazzete He can't just blend with the rest, knowing how he's been With the style of his slick hair and bright clothes He could wear a zoot suit to a wedding And that's what he loves to express and expose For no man could take his place, no one has what he's betting In the face of judgment he tells them to let go as it is It has no baring on life and the pleasures of living Why move a dandelion in a field of roses Tackled by the plants and never being the diamond on a ring I have no words but thank you You make up the world Not just the three, but eight billion too You make it worthful, you make it pearled See within that you hold the earth It is a gift to everyone that ever was, young and old It's something to share, share your worth It is meant to play out, not to be told It's the greatest gift we hold It's Love, Heart, and Gold
