Breaking sad Makes me feel bad Like trying to see the light In a world of forever night Darkness gives you A tainted view When I let the darkness in it only grew In the distance, I see the light So bright Hard to find my way Through the darkness of day Lost to the absence of light My life was no longer right Everyday was a fight The more I fought Learning hard lessons taught Could not find the way To a better day Hope it seemed was never meant to stay Held down by life Bound by inner strife I tried not to care Life was more than I could bare I could see the light so far away In the darkness I thought I would stay Love started to fade Hope started to degrade I started to cry Thought I would die Lonely and old I felt so cold Inside and out I silently did shout With the darkness all about I can no longer see Please....just sit me free I fell to the ground Lost in the pain that was all around Struggled to my knees Felt no one would hear my pleas The ringing of silence the only sound In this hell I feel I am bound Lead me closer to the light Give me back my sight I am lost I give you my soul to pay any cost Help me I feel I can no longer be Take my heart We can no longer be apart Give me life a new start I grow tired unable to rest Have I yet past any test I have done my best I have tried Cried But alone Life has shown I cannot go on anymore Help me to soar Open the door You are my only light Help me in this fight Lead my way Through each day Help me to be strong The night is so long My life so wrong Take away this forever night And now I see such a sight I see the light Of it I become a part Love cleans my heart It leads my way I no longer see only gray I feel free I can now see This is how life must truly be Can feel my strength building His love is shielding Darkness fades away To a brighter day Living in the light His love felt so right I see such beauty each and everyday I have found my way Who knew.....I had only to pray
