Poem
forever we talk on the river of rim cutting its banks under smothered stars and a muted moon it gushes through fallen giants whose dead limbs gather homeless crows waiting for the sun... ...for tomorrow for someone kind enough to care for crows for starlings for all less than pretty things all unappreciated unloved and misunderstood even me when I don't honor this "thing" I try not to believe you open your heart not once but thrice good girls... just ...don't but you're so nice it hurts so much... I want to stay full of hope on my pillow long after you leave God or somebody help me please is this love true I wish I knew but your cliff is the only one worth jumping from and I leap into you not too recklessly to hurt any thing just drifting like moon light in your song tomorrow with the poor beggar crows I'll come to feed and I know you'll smile and welcome me yeah... I will want to stay and that's ok (please, don't abandon me) I sink and I keep coming back to drown some more (it's okay when you close the door I don't fear losing you anymore) loving as you are these crows know you can't care for them forever if they lose you they won't starve oh, yes... ...my love a cold, long, lonely winter it has been for us for them for everyone on the river of rim we are our only warmth yet on Valentines Day (on Valentine's Day!) we tried to leave didn't we... ...rather than face this "thing" (I try not to believe) only to start again where we left off on the river of rim now apple blossoms buzz with bees and cardinals nest in those happy trees yes I confess I've dreamed too deep (uh-huh like these ravens and these crows if the hand that feeds me has to go I know I'll survive but I want to ...thrive) rivers run deep rivers run wide they run to the sea before they run dry our banks have flooded so many times yet I don't-- --I can't I won't let go you're too good for me (so I'm deaf to this fear I will trust and believe) my good girl run with me we have our starlings our ravens our crows our bunnies, bees and apple trees it doesn't matter if these banks don't hold and these trees get swept away let it rain for forty days and nights again if we let go it's not our river of rim no and who will care for our starlings and crows yeah... august september october ...I know I am was never really ...I know who's keeping score no on the river of rim ~ we just flow ~
