Dumpster Diving 101
Hey, Lucy, I said, “Want to watch me take my garbage to the dumpster?”
She was the only one outside with me, and I knew she would.
Of course, she did.
I raised the lid to find the entire dumpster full.
There was a gray plastic container with a lid that looked new.
It was not mine.
So I raised the lid.
Inside were a bunch of unopened, unwrapped toys.
So I attempted to lift the container.
My mistake. It weighed a ton.
I unloaded the toys into Lucy’s arms.
Teaching her Dumpster Diving 101.
When her arms were full, I put them into the yard.
Then I discovered something big and heavy.
It had a handle.
I pulled it out. It was a projector.
No cords.
Under the projector were three unopened
reams of paper! Score!
I told Lucy to go get me the two-wheel cart from the garage.
Told her it was red.
She ran for the garage.
Came back pulling the red wagon; close enough.
I left the projector on the porch in case any of my sons-in-law wanted one.
I was telling the story to my husband after the Easter company all left.
He said “Do you know who put it into our dumpster?”
It was one of my sons-in-law who obviously does not know me well.
Next time hopefully he will bring it straight to the porch.
