Hidden from sight

A long way we must travel far off the beaten track
up steep terrain and down to flattened ground
always keeping to hidden paths and thick cover
far from the known world we enter into secret.

Land where no humans have ever stepped foot
all around us is a hidden glen with a waterfall
tumbling into a wild beautiful lake with rocks
all around its edges and wild flowers scattered.

A voice whispers if you drink from me a curtain
will lift allowing you to see into the spirit world
where for a short time you will be able to speak
to those who dwell here just say the name

Of the one you lost all those years ago and
he will reply to you telling you that you should
let go and move on I cry out to him you are
the only one I can love no matter how long

We are parted my heart always belongs to you
you will always be my only love a sigh is my
answer as the curtain closes and I again lose him

Dearest Shadow, what a deeply moving tribute to your love, Pat, who passed away in September 2005. The heartfelt scenes of traveling through hidden paths and encountering a secret glen is enchanting. Also, your expression of longing and eternal love is deeply, touching the heart with its raw emotion and haunting beauty. Such a heartfelt piece Shadow. Blessings, my friend, Daniel

Your poem was poignant and captivating, Shadow. I felt sorrow and grief as your story unfolded. His words of 'letting go' brought mist to my eyes. The ending left me breathless. Outstanding, dear Shadow. Wishing you a pleasant evening, hugs, Sara
