Beats of Despair

Graffiti walls and trash strewn streets
Hope withers before it can grow
 Despair plays in steady beats
 With somber scenes to show
Dreams dry up before they flow

Poem describes certain inner cities where there is little pride. This is a timely reminder that cities need to be revitalized.

a nicely written poem...reminds me of some of the streets in near downtown Dallas where the homeless encampments are...when I walk by I can feel the despair you describe...where dreams dry up before they flow. Outstanding. Enjoy your evening, Sara
