The Emperor's New Poem
lining their pockets with material lies
they sow doubt at society's cost
- so that those who don't wish to be labelled unwise
just agree when the facts become 'lost'.
beware that parade that is marching aloof
with its sycophants cheering in line
- for the silence they weave that is hiding the truth
cuts away at life's fabric each time.
so where is that child who first laughs then cries out:
”when they speak they say nothing at all!”
- until he appears and until we cast doubt
they’ll spin yarns and forever walk tall.
