Demetrios Trifiatis
Mr. Trifiatis Is a retired professor of philosophy, a poet-Pushcart Poetry Prize Nominee-an Author of poetry books, a Humanitarian, an Amateur Historian, a Photographer, and a gardener. He, on many occasions, has been a candidate for the Greek and for the European parliaments. He speaks Greek, English, French, and German. He has traveled extensively around the world and possesses dual nationality: Greek and Canadian.
Mr. Trifaitis was born in Greece, later on, moved to Canada where he studied philosophy at Concordia University and completed his postgraduate studies at the Universite de Montreal, Canada. Got married, became a member of the Canadian Philosophical Association, taught philosophy and languages, created his own philosophical radio and TV shows that broadcasted in three languages: English, French, and Greek.
After twenty years in Canada returned to Greece and became Academic Director of private schools and colleges. Collaborated with professors of the Athens University and from the position of the Secretary-General of the International Center of Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Research helped to organize international symposia on Philosophy, Education, Politics and Peace. Also, as a member of humanitarian organizations, used to visit hospitals, prisons, and mental institutions.
When young He was a track and field athlete and used to run Marathons-42 km 295 m- in around 2h and 30 minutes.
Mr. Trifiatis is a devoted humanitarian who has dedicated his life to God, peace, and universal brotherhood. This can easily be seen in his poetry which has become known around the world.
