Storm To Shadow the Rain

I have been angry at the world these days
I think I have just been flustered at my own sins,
so much I have been storming on the earth.

I have been cursing at race for existing
been complaining at critics,
been cursing homophobia
been crying over body judging people.

I am full of anger, some of it is funny
I am angry at slow network,
at authors who killed my favorite character
at trees that don't have shades,
at the air fill bags of chips in my house,
at celebrities for not giving me a shout out,
at people who never liked me back.

just been angry,
that's the only feeling I can ignite and subside,
I can use diversity to calm down,
use positive criticism to relax,
use open minded people to sleep well
or just a comedy to laugh.

but I still choose to be angry,
to be storm and thunder, '
because if I stop being angry,
I'll just be rain
and I have no control over that.

My Home Land

I want to bring my city friends to the village with me,
let them walk on bare soil
and watch people work in farm lands.
I want them to see my blessings, a real life forest
and clear sunsets
the kids playing in the mud
and uncles going to a local bar.

I want them to rest from city lights,
have them see the beauty of my village that rests on mountains,
I wish they could meet village boys
the one's whose mothers are religious and strict,
the ones who'd ask you to meet them by the stream but stand a distance away.

Will they fear my mother's chickens
or marvel at how cute the chicks are.
will they miss the car noises of the city at night
or curse my neighbor's geese.
will they value the beauty of this nature
the clear sky and the perfect view of the night?
Or just like me on most days
want to just sit inside and watch tv?

The Free Apology

This is a poem to myself or maybe just about myself
An introduction of me to strangers or an apology to myself.
“I am sorry,” either one of us should take these words
You, a stranger whose hand I might have shook today
You, the one who might have asked me to reach for the soap on the top shelf
You, the one who might have liked my post online
Or maybe you who might be too far away for me to meet,
That apology could be for you, Or for me.
I am sorry to myself,
I have been a coward lately, keeping myself busy
To avoid my own thoughts.
“I’m sorry,” sometimes I say that without knowing why,
I apologize way too much, I end up apologizing for things I’m proud of,
like,
“I’m sorry for this poem.”
All because I am afraid, of what people might say,
If I show a little pride.

,age 7,

A bus is full of little kids,
who are marveled at diversity outside the bus.
On a trip, it has stopped at a point I cannot clearly remember
where we see black, white and brown skin
a combination we hardly see here at home.
and we all pose for a family of white
that takes a picture of us and laughs.
I hate that I have grown till now
to reflect on this day and wonder,
did they take a picture of little, cute, school kids
or a picture of little black people?
"black" as how they'd pronounce it.

We Are Not Okay,Are We

I wonder why people who say they want to die
still look across the road while walking
I wonder why they still drink water or eat, or care to bandage a wound when bleeding
I wonder why that girl who has it all
was crying in the bathroom that one time
or that smart kid, still isolates herself,
I wonder why he who is social, texts me about loneliness.
I wonder why, she says she is sick but looks just fine,
I wonder why, I'm lying in this poem,
telling strangers of my stories with other people's names,
why do I always fear being cliché,
could it be that I want to be attended too,
could it be I said that line so you would thing I was not,
could it be you feel this way too,
but you too fear what I would say,
be like me, tell me your story using their names,
tell me she feels guilty after she eats,
tell me he is afraid of his own thoughts,
because is you use yours,
I might say, "some have it worse, don't be dramatic."
