OUR SEWAGE NOW FLOWS FREE

There once was a sense of what’s right.
They knew they’d a problem with sh*te,
So built sewage system,
To deal with the problem.
Then their waste no longer a blight.

In every town the residents
For this service paid a few pence.
Rivers were once more clean.
It was a pleasant scene.
Public health was but common sense.

Back then they thought in terms of need.
But modern man now thinks of greed.
Let sewage overflow
And into river go.
The shareholders are all agreed.

And now we play the profit game.
Cut all the costs and show no shame.
Just send sewage down stream.
Profit margin, a dream.
For this someone else we will blame.

The rivers take it to the sea.
From treatment costs we now are free.
Now turds upon the shore
With used condoms galore
And red-nosed white mice there to see.
